Great read

I loved it - witty dialogue, complex world [particularly for a novella length work], and great characters with a relationship driven plot. Imagine a world with large numbers of supernaturals - various types of shifters, vampires, and fae are mentioned - plus a little human glue. Since there seem to be few sexual barriers, no one worries about the gender or number of partners. Sex is about sexual attraction to people, not about what race or species they are, what gender they are or what the number of participants in any relationship are. Which over time has led to a lot of genetic mixing. One hero has avian shifter and vampire, the other is a 'near human' [meaning there's unidentified fae or supernaturals somewhere in the family tree], and the heroine is a full-blooded dragon shifter.
It's a fun read, I hope the author writes more in this world.
