Rob Auten is a video game writer whose writing credits include Gears of War: Judgment (cowritten with Tom Bissell). He lives in New York City. Established in 1991, Epic Games develops cutting-edge games and cross-platform game engine technology. The company has created multiple award-winning titles in its Unreal series, and Epic’s Gears of War has won more than 30 Game of the Year Awards. Its headquarters are in Cary, NC.

Awesome expansion to the Gears universe.

The kilo squad survivor's log is a neat collection of journal entries written by Damon Baird of Kilo squad during the events that take place during the game Gears of War Judgment. The Survivors log also contains drawings, post cards, aptitude tests of the members of kilo squad, and even the Cole Train's rookie card! These little extras seem to have been shipped right out of the gears universe. The book is meant to look and feel like Baird's Field notebook and the blood and coffee stains on some of the pages really makes it seem believable. Most of the entries are Baird writing to his parents postmortem but as sad as that may seem the entries are full of Baird's odd since of humor and are really fun to read. Baird covers everything from his first few weeks enlisted, basic training, the first time he met Cole, Sofia, and Paduk, the battle of Halvo Bay and of coarse the trial of Kilo squad. I always thought that of all the characters in Gears of War, Baird was the one we knew the least about. The Kilo squad Survivor's Log is a really neat look at Baird's story and adds a lot to Gears of War judgment..

Still reading the book but so far its great. This is definatly set up to feel like a survivors log. As there are clips that are "taped" into the book like you would expect from a diary/journal. GOW is awesome!!

If you are a Gears fan, I strongly recommend you add this book to your collections. From front to cover it is just informative and beautiful .
