About the Author


Piyush Kumar Sinha, Professor, Marketing, and Chairperson, Centre for Retailing, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), has over 30 years of academic and industry experience. He has also served as Dean, Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA), and has taught at leading business schools in India. Dr Sinha is active in research in the areas of retailing and consumer behaviour.

Dwarika Prasad Uniyal is currently Associate Professor & Assistant Dean (Academic), Jindal Global Business School. He has also served as the Founding Dean of Chitkara Business School, Himachal Pradesh. He has held professorial positions in premier Business Schools like SPJIMR, Mumbai, SPJCM, Dubai-Singapore, and MICA, Ahmedabad, and is a visiting faculty at many premier B Schools.

Space, the final frontier

This is a huge collection of the work done by John Harris. Most of his art is obsessed with space and the machines that travel it. The work is amazing in that it captures the infinite quality of space: cold, bleak, lonely, and never ending. There are also paintings of the machines that must travel it in search of new resources or just exploration. The paintings are very unique and beautiful. But don't expect to see creatures or babes with very skimpy clothing, there aren't any in this book.
This book is worth owning for people who love sci-fi and also love ships like the Nostromo from "Alien". I personally hate clean, aerodynamic ships like in Star Trek. Deep space ships are supposed to be huge, klunky, and dirty. And that's what John Harris can paint.

This book is a must have for science fiction and concept artist. As well as avid art book collectors. The only way to describe this work is inspirational which is why you will see a lot of modern entertainment taking ques from John Harris, His paintings give way to scale and how massive these ships and structures are.

There is plenty of good text in here as well but lets face it this book is about the art and their is plenty of it.

Meaningful Biography Explains Stunning Images

Mass opens a door on the artistic process behind some of the best Sci-Fi artwork.

Unfortunately out of print, Mass furnishes not only quality color reproductions of John Harris' artwork, but also a meaningful biographical narrative. I had planned to ignore the narrative, but wound up reading every word. I'm glad I did, because the story behind the art is in this case as compelling as the art itself. Ron Tiner, himself an artist and illustrator, tells how Harris came into this line of work, where his images came from, and how he produced them. It is a tale embracing British public school culture, the Pop Art movement, transcendental meditation, and more.

And the images are themselves amazing. As illustrations for Sci-Fi stories by leading authors like Asimov, Harris' task is evocative, and he does not disappoint. If you've ever found yourself gazing minutes on end at the cover of a Sci-Fi book, I think you will appreciate Mass, both as a visual adventure and as an aid to understanding the process and origin of images that have helped millions visualize Sci-Fi.

Not, perfect practice makes perfect. This book is different in thought and approach to his last, She Comes First. This book is primarily written for women, on how to make love and build desire in their man. This book is long on philosophy and a thinking approach, and short on techniques. I think that was intended. To build great sex, it is more a mental game than a physical one, and this book explains to women the mental game of men, so they know how to play. To often, we approach our partner the way we would like to be approached, and will not likely work out for most people. This book arms you for understanding to be the best you, you can be in bed and in the set up before.

It is not lacking in technique. The last 3 chapters give you ideas and baslines on how to handled the different levels of arousal, signs to look for, ways to please. It encourages women to find their inner tigress and take charge, and drive the activites to make love to their partners better.

Teachers and students have long felt a need for a convenient, one-volume collection of English translations of the basic texts that have shaped the major Asian philosophical traditions. A Sourcebook in Asian Philosophy is a response to this need. Our principal aim has been to include the texts that the Asian philosophical traditions themselves have regarded as fundamental, for it is these texts that give us the greatest insight into Asian philosophies. Which texts to include was often a difficult choice, since space allowed us to include only a small fraction of the total of each tradition's foundational books. Twenty-five years of experience in teaching introductory courses in Asian philosophy and the suggestions of friends and colleagues helped us choose texts that we think are both foundational within the various Asian traditions and accessible to readers whose ideas and modes of thinking have been shaped by different intellectual traditions.

We are greatly indebted to the many scholars whose translations and interpretive studies we have used in compiling this Sourcebook. Sources of translations and especially helpful interpretive studies have been indicated at the end of the introduction to each chapter. In some cases minor modifications have been made to the translations, including correcting errors and omitting unnecessary scholarly footnotes and brackets. The introductions have been kept as brief as possible so as not to intrude on the texts themselves. Readers looking for more help in understanding the Asian philosophical traditions these texts helped shape might want to turn to John M. Koller, Oriental Philosophies, 2nd edition (New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1985) or similar works, including those listed in the introductions.

Finally, we would like to express our appreciation to all the people who have supported our efforts in putting together this anthology. A mind cramp

Even though I was able to find the book the book elsewhere and returned the book that I originally purchased through Amazon, I would definitely recommend this text simply because of the rich and plentiful content it holds. The method of thought required to truly grasp the teachings of this text is beyond the common western train of thought. That being said, I would absolutely recommend that anyone interested in expanding their minds in the philosophical method.
