Alan Sitkin is Senior Lecturer and Pathway Leader for the MA in International Business at the European Business School, London (Regent's College), where he began teaching in 1999. Alan has 15 years of experience in the global capital markets working out of Paris, Zurich and London. His specific areas of interest include politics and finance, language and sustainability.

Nick Bowen is Principal Lecturer in International Business at the European Business School, London (Regent's College) and is Program Director for the BA International Business. Confusing

Story rather convoluted and confusing. It left the reader with more questions than answers.

"It's no secret - it's a terrific thriller"

This book provided me with several hours great entertainment and brought back a few memories. At first I was hesitant about the alternating chapters; The 'Devil' chapters hinted at a severely troubled mind in one of the main characters, while in the 'Sarah' chapters we followed the GP's daily life and everything appeared fairly normal. A lot of people are single, in their thirties, work hard, enjoy a glass of wine, have relationship problems (past and present) and find someone who could be 'the one'. I was caught up in both sides of the story and wasn't sure who was 'The Devil' until the very end of the book. Bravo, Mr. Stevens, but surely the author is too young to remember prog rock? Two of the male characters had a discussion about Gentle Giant and Van Der Graaf Generator. Neither of these bands would be on the radar of the men in question surely? I shared the stage with both of them in 1970-71 and by my calculations neither of the men in the story was even born. Never mind though, it brought back a few memories.

A fine psychological thriller.

I have been addicted to Tim Stevens' John Purkiss and Martin Cavalry books, and this one was a bit of a departure. An excellent one at that. I was reminded of another favorite author, Steven King. His recent novel "Mr. Mercedes" was quite different from what most people expect, and I found it to be brilliant.

"The Devil's Secret" kept me thinking and guessing to the end. I was invested in the tale, and lost myself in it. I'll have to apologize to the friends that tried to call me, and just got voicemail during my reading time. Highly recommended.

Christ's Cure for Care

It is so wonderful to finally see this book republished for the benefit of Christians today. Mark Guy Pearse was a friend of Charles H Spurgeon and Spurgeon recommends his books. This book is the best I've ever read on how Christians should face worries and fears. He starts with "Your Heavenly Father" Matt 6:26 and shows us how for the cure of care the Son of God reveals the love of the Heavenly Father, other chapters include "The two masters", "Life and its Wants", "Consider the Lilies" and the Heathenism of Care". I highly recommend it for any Christian struggling under the burden of worries and fear.

This book is good. The AV 1611 or AKJV bible is much better. It is good starter book for Christians. It is not very inspired. More of a guidebook. Yes, GOD is the cure for worry! Cast your worries upon HIM! Love, Jonathan

The story is told almost entirely in dialogue, emphasizing emotions. The illustrations, though gently rounded and softly colored, are highly expressive and full of cinematic angles. Especially effective is the page by page "zooming in" as the conflict between Fish and Snail builds. The imaginative power of books is implied, but the concept of self-aware characters that visit other books might be too abstract to be appreciated by some children. This is an odd, sweet little story, appropriate for large collections or where friendship stories are in high demand. Snail, who clearly appreciates the comfort of a reread, is quite happy where he is and content to wait for Fish to come back and tell him about other books. But when Fish wants Snail to join him in a different book, the two friends argue—Snail is defensive about his preferences, and Fish is dismissive of them. Fish splashes away in a huff: “Fine, Snail. Good-bye. THE END.” Young readers might not absorb the meta construct of the story, but they will certainly understand the horror of a few hastily spoken words and appreciate the amicable resolution. As she did in Blue Chicken (2011), Freedman uses the book as a canvas—both the book in the reader’s hands and the book of Fish and Snail. Fish and Snail, courage and kitty pirates.

I flat out love The Story of Fish and Snail. It's visually stunning, with a heartwarming story and a fantastic read aloud flow. Deborah Freedman has dazzled us once again with yet another book that delivers not only an engaging, well written story, but also a design that is unique and rather breathtaking.

Fish and Snail live in a book. One day, Fish returns to the book with a new story that he wants to show Snail. This new story is filled with adventure and excitement, but Snail doesn't want to go see it. He wants to stay in their book and play their usual games. Arguments ensue, and Fish leaves the book in a huff. Snail is beside himself, bemoaning just how their book can be called The Story of Fish and Snail if there is no Fish? He works up his courage and takes the plunge, diving into the unknown to follow his friend. Compromises are reached, conflicts resolved, courage is found and fun results.

The illustrations in this book are simply stunning. They make me smile, and I can't wait to share this little gem with my story time audience. Fish and Snail are incredibly cute! Their travels outside of the book are wonderfully depicted as the artist makes very effective use of color against black and white. Perhaps my favorite spread is the one showing the water splashing up from the page as Snail takes his big dive. The artist's unique design adds a three dimensional feel to the book that is hard to describe. Much like her other works, this is one you simply have to see to fully appreciate.

The Story of Fish and Snail is a must have for any classroom, story time, or preschooler's personal collection. This will make an excellent gift book that is sure to be enjoyed over and over again as kids ponder the very notion that book characters might actually leave their book. Just imagine...the possibilities are endless.

A lovely story of encouraging your friends to be their best. Very few words per page, so it is perfect for a child who likes a lot of colorful pictures or one with a short attention span.

About the Author
Alex Hirsch is a writer, animator, voice actor, and director. He is best known for creating Gravity Falls on Disney XD. He was raised in Piedmont, California, and received a BFA in Character Animation from The California Institute of the Arts. He currently lives in Los Angeles, and is at work developing projects for Film & TV.
Rob Renzetti is the creator of the Nickelodeon series My Life As a Teenage Robot. He has worked as a producer, director, storyboard artist, and writer on shows such as Gravity Falls, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Dexter's Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Family Guy.

Andy Gonsalves is a designer, illustrator, and storyboard artist who works in the wonderful world of television animation. In addition to his work on popular shows such as Gravity Falls and Uncle Grandpa, Andy is also known for his original designed T-shirts which are worn by people around the world.
Stephanie Ramirez, a Los Angeles native, has worked in the animation industry as a character designer and freelance artist since 2007. Her credits include television shows such as Gravity Falls, Clarence, and Rick and Morty. Stephanie has also illustrated two books for Disney Publishing Worldwide: Dipper's and Mabel's Guide to Mystery and Nonstop Fun! and Journal 3. ARE YOU HERE TO STEAL MY EYES

Honestly I was just expecting a weird little "Disney product" book with like show trivia and just one or two pages from the show but oh. My. God. This thing is a beast and I'm so happy? I'm so content with this book. This was everything I wanted and more. I'm just so happy with it I can't even explain it. It's massive and incredible and the quality is amazing I would have happily paid twice the price for it. I'm elated as hell. Thank you. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the show kids and adults alike.

Note: do not leave open while cats are about.

Amazing quality and replica of the show!

You can really see how much time and effort went into creating this journal. It is an EXACT replica of what is on the show. Its really amazing, especially for the price. It's really good quality and I recommend this to anyone who watches Gravity Falls or even hasn't seen it yet.

P.S.- Dippers real name is actually said in this. If you can't find it, its on the page called "The True Theory of Weirdness" towards the end of the book :)

Nice compilation of articles

It was a compilation of many articles that I found over the internet in doing research into the topic. It was nice to have all the details in one location but not a lot of new content. Was worth the money to anyone who just got a RTL-SDR dongle and wants a single place to to read how to use it rather than search around for the information via search engines. I noted that a lot of people got the dongles for the RTL-SDR purpose and were frustrated in figuring how to use it. This book is for them.

It's obvious that Carl Laufer is very knowledgeable and spent a great amount of time to compile this guide to SDR. I read the majority of the book prior to ordering my hardware. His advice and expertise allowed me to make prudent purchases allowing me to get started on a shoe string budget. I have enjoyed the hobby for a few weeks now and largely in part due to this guide my experience is progressing along very well. The book can be somewhat technical at times, but since I already have a decades long background in radio and computers this has allowed me to marry both into a rewarding and challenging hobby - Software Defined Radio. I heartily endorse this guide. FYI I purchased the Kindle version.

An excellent compilation of available RTL-SDR resources, and then some. For me I found a lot of new material concerning antennas and project tutorials. As a reminder, don't forget to reward your favorite SDR software author for their hard work which made this hobby so interesting and economical.

FLO MORSE has studied American communities since 1971, when she wrote Yankee Communes: Another American Way. She has also written How Does It Feel to Be a Tree? (1976), and The Story of the Shakers (1986). A former reporter for The New York Herald Tribune, she has published poetry and has reviewed books for The New York Times Book Review, The Shaker Quarterly, The Shaker Messenger, and other publications.
